FIVE YEAR Milestone at New Location!

This Memorial Day weekend marks a FIVE YEAR milestone of the Moundsville Pharmacy team “packing up shop” and moving across the street to its current location. The new location was 244 days in the making with months of advanced planning and preparation.

Jason Turner, owner and pharmacist, explains, “We designed the new location to offer improved access, increased parking, drive-thru service, and most importantly, modernized space to improve and expand the specialty services currently offered at the pharmacy.”

And expand services they have – Moundsville Pharmacy specializes in medication synchronization with over 1,400 patients enrolled in a program to align all of a patient’s medications to one monthly date for improved convenience and less visits to the pharmacy. In addition, Moundsville Pharmacy was the first in the community to offer medication packaging with over 300 patients receiving their medications in pre-sorted and clearly labeled packages for each day of the week.

In order to provide these services, the Moundsville Pharmacy team has grown from a team of 12 to a team of 25 – each with their own designated areas of services and specialties.

While Turner and his team have achieved many of their goals, he has a vision for continued investment into the community to improve patient care. The pharmacy is currently working to expand medication packaging to more patients; and in late summer will begin improvements to meet newly effective requirements for prescription compounding to expand compounding services.

Throughout the growth and improvement in services at the Moundsville Pharmacy location, the organization has expanded to provide similar services in the communities of Sistersville (2014), Pine Grove (2017), and New Martinsville (2018). With four locations, the organization believes there truly is a “Difference” in getting your prescriptions through a locally-owned pharmacy.

Turner remarks, “The bottom line is that we are invested and committed…in the health of our patients, in our employees, in the pharmacy services we provide, and in the local communities themselves.”

Turner adds, “Roger Cole, my mentor and pharmacy founder always believed that ‘if you take care of the patients first, the patients will take care of you.’” Now in its 39th year of operation, the pharmacy appreciates its longtime patients who have witnessed its growth, improvements, and expansion.
